I know this has to be around here somewhere.” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve muttered the same words to myself time and time again. You’ve rummaged through the piles of papers on your desk and the drawers or your desk until about 30 minutes later you’ve given up only to find it after class is over.
This has happened to me way more times than I’m willing to admit, and the answer is because you are a teacher. Teachers have papers, books, lesson plans, stickers, and more craft and art supplies than Michael’s and Joann combined. If you are finally ready to start getting your classroom organized, here are some essentials you might need.
File Boxes
File boxes can help you organize papers, class activities, and even your lesson plans! They snap shut making them perfect for easy and sturdy storage! I like to use these file folders to help organize my bins.
Magnetic Storage Pockets
These are so versatile and perfect for your elementary classroom! I use them to organize magnets, markers, and anything else I might need for the whiteboard! No more lost markers in my classroom!
Book Bins
These book bins are perfect for creating a classroom library or to hold textbooks and other teaching supplies. You can use them to hold your teaching guides and just about anything else.
Whiteboard Clipboards
Whoever thought of whiteboard clipboards is seriously not getting paid enough! These are so handy to have and help you keep your whiteboard organized.
Charging Station
If you use technology in the classroom, you will want to consider picking up one of these charging stations! They are so handy and help you charge multiple devices at once!
Magnetic Clips
Magnetic clips are a lifesaver for your classroom! You can use these on your bulletin boards, whiteboard, and all-around your classroom for easy and simple organization! If you want magnets that aren’t so colorful, these are a little less vibrant.
Dry Erase Pocket Sleeves
Out of all the tools in my classroom, this one comes in handy more times than I can count. These easy pocket sleeves will help you keep your classroom handouts and activities from getting ruined so you can use them over and over again!
Laminating Pouches
If something can be laminated, you bet I’m going to be the first one in line to laminate it! These laminating pouches make it easy to keep all of your prized classroom resources protected from the grime that can come from letting your elementary students use something.
Picture Frames
These clear acrylic frames are so handy to have on hand! You can use them to display handouts, a calendar, and other important classroom resources in your classroom! I have used these in nearly every classroom I’ve had!
While buying a bunch of products won’t organize your classroom for you, these can help you get your classroom organization under control so you can focus on teaching. For more classroom ideas, check out this post for some of my best teaching ideas.
